Pretty nifty.. I went on a tour of the dam in Nov 1994, hoping to see this
stuff, as part of another tour in the area, but the tour was more oriented
at shopping in Paraguay, so the dam tour (which wound up being in
Portuguese) was along the lines of: "And behind that wall are the
generators. Those wires connect to the switchyard..." I asked about the DC
converter stuff and got a blank look. Ah well.. at least the eclipse was
cool.
