Who makes "Tesla" anyway???

Ever notice on Ebay a LOT of items ending with "Tesla"? 
Magnet wire-Tesla
High voltage this-Tesla
High voltage that-Tesla
 
LOL!!!
 
Has anyone ever asked about this stuff, like how does one use such and such in
a coil?
I did and got this...

I suppose it could be. It's simply a braided conductor that a big whalloping
pulse goes thru, surrounded by a core and measurement coil.
