Andy,
I would use mineral oil or a non detergent 20 wt motor oil (both of
witch can be found in the grocery store most days) for the cap. They
work and are great for that starting low budget cap, but start saving
money to buy a few geek caps at a time, then you can get a mmc built
that can be adjusted to a system and will last and last.
I like Jon Tebbs design witch you drop another batch in and onto the
copper tube buss bars as needed.
