Hi,

"MOT" stands for Microwave Oven Transformer.  These transformers supply the big
magnetron tube in the ovens with power to cook the food.  Like Neon Sign
Transformers (NSTs) they are current limited but at about 20 amps draw from the
AC line.  They can put out about 2000 Volts and 1 amp and are very dangerous
and very capable of delivering fatal shocks.  They are often used in pairs to
get around 4000 Volts and addition current limiting is often added to lower the
short circuit current more.
