Anything above around 10 kV is going to have "some" corona... (and perhaps
even less, for needle points.. photocopiers use a fine wire or row of needle
points, and only use around 5kV).  It's all a matter of radius of
curvature... If the voltage is >3 Megavolts/meter radius corona is a
possibility.

For practical purposes, corona isn't all that big a problem.. It's a fairly
small loss compared to the huge corona loss off the secondary.
