tgap current draw

Hello everyone,

About how many amps does the tgap draw from the mains? My reasons are, first 
I just used the components' leads to connect between them. Is this ok? And 
the other reason is, I am looking for a new triac for the dimmer, and the 
highest current rating I can find in the isolated TO-220AB case is 15 A. Will 
this work?
