The difference is that the silver is 14g and the 12g copper is more than a half
inch wider. Thanks for the heads up on this site. I just wrote to them to
inquire if a 1000 or 1500 ft roll of this foil is available and what the price
would be. They only show the foil conductor having a few types of backing ,
Kapton being the most suitable IMO, but I asked if polypropylene was available,
since it would be cheaper. can you imagine a 1500 foot flat spiral secondary
of this foil? I would make for one compact coil. It would likely need to be
immersed in oil or something, but does give one food for thought. If it comes
like a roll of tape, no winding would even be necessary.
