There are a LOT of streak and framing camera photos in the spark
literature.. Granted, not typically off TCs, but usually Marx banks, but
considering a single cycle, the 2 usec rise/50 usec fall pulse from a Marx
generating a standard lightning impulse, and slower pulses from other tests,
it's probably very similar to TC, where the topload voltage rise is probably
on the order of a microsecond or three.
I'd say that, for initial development at least, the data is valid. The
further growth on successive half cycles is probably less similar than what
you see in the literature, since underdamped waveforms are rare in cases
other than tesla coils.
