Materials and parts for things like bucket caps are often chosen on the
basis of what's lying in the junk box in the garage, or what's cheap, or
what's of appropriate dimensions to manipulate with fumble fingers.... Use
whatever works...
AWG#10 is a tenth of an inch in diameter (a handy thing to remember).
(That's the copper part, not the insulation!)
AWG#30 is 0.01 inches in diameter (approximately)
Usually, you hook the wire to a ring lug and screw that on the end of the
binding post. Probably #6, #8, or even #10 hardware. Or you can solder it.
