Hi All,
We hit 145 posts yesterday :-))
But that is getting to be a bit too much... We sent out 130,000 e-mails
and the ISP got a little hot about it. Chip will change some stuff on the
server so they hopefully don't have a problem. We really don't want a mad
ISP, so we have to be sure that the posts are relevant during this very
busy time of year.
So I ask three things:
1. Really try hard to cut (snip) old unused parts off posts you reply to.
This drastically reduces the number of bytes sent out.
2. Simple thankyous or other direct replies that just involve you and
another poster should probably be sent direct to them rather than through
the list. There are 890 people on the list so if a comment is not of
general interest, it is probably best to save the bandwidth especially
these days.
3. Off topic posts are going to get rejected now more than ever. If it
does not relate "directly" to Tesla coiling, we just don't have the
bandwidth to support it. I am usually pretty calm about this especially in
the last months but it is time to turn up the heat. Sometimes people
mention off topic things in their posts. Replies to these off topic things
are not allowed. You may want to contact them directly if you wish. Best
to keep posts right on topic for awhile.
Lots of fun going on! :-)) But we have to be a bit careful not to have
"too much" fun ;-))
Cheers,
Terry
