nst rc filter component sources?
Original poster: "Laurence Davis by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <meknar-at-hotmail-dot-com>
trying to build a nst rc filter (as per terry's paper).
trying to make sure i match the right components.
checked out digikey...
found some ceramic disc capacitors rated at 3kv(dc)
such as p10842-nd (p606) at 3kvdc / 150pf. approx price $0.20
i'll need quite few to make the 30kv rating.
found some power resistors
vitreous enamel wirewound power resistors pn avt200-1000-nd (p639)
rated voltage is 1kvac approx price each $17
225watt.
are these acceptable choices? I'm quite awful at component selection :)
im guessing that doorknob caps would be expensive if purchased new.
I've seen them occasionally on ebay, but i figured i should build
with new components. i don't expect to build another, so i might as well
build it right. I'd like to make the rc filter able to withstand
12kv/120ma.
