The strips may still behave as breakout points. I'd keep the strips
a little higher up, so they start to move into the center hole of the
doughnut. They don't have to be exactly at the center line, in other
words. The strips can be much lower than the toroid center line, but
still shielded within the well of the doughnut. Using this method,
the toroid still mostly rests on the strips. This is the method I use
with my corregated toroids.
