series pigs

Scot,

Did you ground one of the HV terminals on each pig as I have mentioned,
or did you just hook them in series? Does this "centre-tap" arrangement
cause any insulation stress? My understanding of the centre-tap
arrangement is that each pig does not experience any more voltage than
it was designed for. Is this correct? I guess this may not be possible
with the US 240v system, as both lines are hot (whereas the aussie
system uses an active and a neutral).

Also, something else I would like to do is place the 11kV secondaries
in series and also the 240v primaries. I would then power the pigs with
the 415v we have between phases over here. This will give me a nice
~19kV supply. However, I can't use the centre-tap arrangement with this
as both terminals will be hot, right?

This also lets me draw almost twice the energy with the same current
load. Australia has very strict laws regarding unequal phase loadings.
This will let me get alot more power before I break any laws or dim the
entire neighbourhood.

Cheers,
