One of the transformers out of a high intensity discharge, or mercury
light, ballast, have an output of 360v - 600v -at- 400 - 1500 watts.
If you get a throw away HID. or better yet, a sodium ballast (better
quality at higher wattage's) the "multi-tap" verity will get you a nice
adjustable v plate tranny.
I even rewired one for a 5v - 7.5v - 10v - 15v center tapped filament
tranny. VERY inexpensive, VERY high current!
Something for the new vttc's to think about?
I love the looks and the performance.
