Hi Frank,

TPI = 1" / total wire diameter
total wire diameter = bare wire diameter + insulation + spacing between turns.

22 awg total wire diameter is typically 0.0298" if closewound with no spacing.
So, 1" / 0.0298 = 33.6 TPI
