Chris,

All you need to do is place the input of the welder in series with 
the 240 volt side of the pole pig. You will also need to short out
the output leads of the welder (the ground clamp and the welding
rod holder). You can use the amperage selector of the welder to
control the input current to the pole pig. I bought a 240 volt female
receptacle that the plug from the welding machine would fit into
and wired the female receptacle in series with the 240 volt (LV)
side of the pole pig. I then simply plugged the welder into this
receptacle and was able to keep the welding machine complete-
ly intact while using it to ballast the pole pig :-)
