If you can actually see the windings and can trace out where the
lead wires go, it's possible to use a three phase transformer on
single phase...I know because I'm doing just that with my X-ray
power supply to charge up the caps for my pulse discharge doey.
I used the two outer sets of windings, and left the middle ones
disconnected. You have to get the phasing right so that the flux
generated by the left hand coil is in compliment with the flux of
the right hand coil. If you get it right, the two fluxes cancell
out on the middle leg of the core and no voltage is generated in
in those windings.
I hope you can picture what I've tried to explain. It would be
better if I could send you a drawing of my methods, but hopefully
you'll figure it out. It WILL work if you get the phasing right.
