RE: Coupling & tuning

Weazle -
The coupling will normaly not change the tuning. However, I would be
interested in running your coil parameters thru the JHCTES Ver 3.3 computer
program to check the coupling and other outputs. What are the parameters of
your coil? Also what have you found in your tests?
The program is at www.mgte-dot-com
Click on "Tesla", then "JHCTES", then "JHCTES Ver 3.3"

Hello Coilers,
Is there a general rule of thumb that covers the interaction
of varying the coupling and how that effects tuning? To put
it another way, if you increase the coupling do you decrease
or increase the primary inductance to maintain in tune?
