Garry:
My home PC got up and running late last night. This means I can write the
definitive construction article on How To Build a Trigger Gap starting
tonight.
I hope to add illustrations over the weekend and get it to Terry on Monday.

You do not need a machine shop.
The gap is comprised of three "sections."
A modified fan dimmer, an High Energy Auto Igniiton coil and a cooled three
electrode spark gap. Some misc componts available from RadioShack couple the
three modules together. I mounted everything on a base of 1/2 plywood, 6 x
14".

I'll be glad to answer any questions today. But Monday, everyone will know
just how easy it is!

Safety First

Ted

Yep, I'm going to try that triggered gap myself. It just seems that the
breakthroughs get better and better! I got an MMC from Terry, so long ago,
the poor fella probably thought I'd never get to trying it, but this gap
needs a LTR mmc, so that's what I'm going to try.

Only thing that worries me is I don't really have access to a machine shop
and I don't know if the triggered gap requires one. I be glad when the specs
for it are done.
