Neilster: To whom are you directing this? To that couple of guys specifically
or everyone?

There is a MASSIVE amount of safety here on this list ; ) I'm not saying
there aren't a handful out there that are really ignorant of the dangers, but
97% are incredibly safe people. Those other 3 percent need to be, or have
been, run off.

I play with 15kV almost daily, in my workshop. Huge transformers and small
electronics. I use a PVC pipe "arc rod" that I made, it is filled with HV
oil, and is 5 feet long. No way in the world is 15kV going to jump that. No
way. And I'm not wearing any kind of special clothing or standing on
anything. This is an extremely safe device to use when dealing with this
voltage, I will not go into the technicals of the rod itself. I trust my life
to it, that's all I have to say about the rod.

But anyhow perhaps you know something that we don't about how they were
playing with the transformer.

You didn't happen to see this at www.hvguy-dot-com did you ; ) It's there.

Take care,
