Hi Patrick,
I used an old plastic container that milk companies used to use to hold
4 gallons of milk....you could use a wooden box.
Found a looooong 3/4" bolt, long enough to span the box, with a nut on
it...or you could use any piece of threaded rod or pipe, the nut and
bolt head keeps the bolt from slipping out of the box, put the bolt thru
one side opening, put the roll of wire on it, feeding from the bottom,
and put the bolt thru the other side. With a rod or pipe you would need
a nut on each end.
I have wound 4 secondaries with this set up. Made a winding jig from 2
pieces of 1" x whatever width I needed and used PVC thin insert plugs to
fit the PVC form
I was winding at the time.
I'm an old widow lady and I did these alone. I do have a good junk pile
: )).
Happy winding1
