David and all,

I swung by the local Osco store (Chicago, Illinois area) - they've got a
10" diameter mirror polished stainless steel sphere mounted to a base via a
steel bolt (looks like either 5/16" or 3/8" diameter by a couple of inches
long. While not perfectly spherical (you can see the seam where the halves
were put together), it's actually pretty nice looking! Cost is about
$29.00. It was on a high shelf, so I wasn't able to look at it closely -
will check it out this weekend. Not too bad a deal for a spherical
electrode of large diameter.  :^)
