As in just having a big coil of wire supported by poly coating?
That would be different....
I would think that the inside coating would take the place of the form...
It would need some serious support, though, like thin strips of plexi or
something pressed into the coating every 1-2 inches, or a REALLY thick coat
on the inside/outside to hold it up......
