Hi Michael...

Hi Volt wire is nice to have if you NEED to run the wires close to grounded
objects or items that may
suffer if arced to. But if you keep about 1 - 2" clearence between the hi
volt sources and other
"grounded" objects, then the need for it ( hi volt wire)  isnt that
important. When i built my NST powered
coil I used some #10 multistrand 600V insulated wire with no problems at
all. Once you start getting past
25KV, more consideration should be put into hi volt wire application....
