Hi All, duck, Moderator,
a forethought while proofreading this :
There is a *REASON* we harp so much on safety. we want to see nobody get
hurt.
My $.02 worth.
Just like the Geico car insurance commercials, we all do dumb things.
The general consensus for doing this stunt is "DON'T DO IT!" however, it's
just like drinking and driving (minus the DUI.) You may or may not die in a
horrible way. Some ppl still do it, for kicks or out of stupidity, i don't
rightly know. what I do know is that the last thing I want is the "safety
police" telling me I can't run a coil because i might get electrocuted, or
build my own electronic projects because my solder contains lead, and i may
inhale the fumes, etc.
In essense, yes, you can do it safely. but not on a typical garage built
coil. With many years and a professional setup (You being the pro), yes, it
can be done. It is a calculated risk, but I doubt any of you would pack
your own parachute and jump solo without knowing what you are doing.to do
anything without knowing what you're doing. Those that do are pure fools,
and a good example of darwin's theory of evolution.
So *please*, use common sense. Stupid hurts, sometimes it's the Big
Hurt(tm). You only get one Big Hurt(tm). If you don't already know how to
do it safely, the best advice is don't do it! If you're bound and
determined to do it, don't advertise it. You may survive, but someone else
may not. I personally don't want someone else's demise on my concious
because they copied me.
'Nuff said on this in my opinion.
Shad
