Power Coating Caution (was: RE: Pig Beautification and Craftsmanship)

All,
With this talk of power coating I just wanted to interject a Safety Note.
Never attempt to power coat a pressure vessel. The baking process can and
has annealed tank materials. This can lead to tank rupture and has caused a
number of deaths and vicious mutilations. If you are even thinking about it
check out what happens when a tank explodes:

Safety First (as Ted R. says).
Regards,
Brian B.

Chris,
I believe that the pole transformers are "powder coated", which is an
aircraft grade finish. The problem is, they have to be baked to apply this
coat. I do not know at what temperature. Some Cycle enthusiasts have their
bike parts powder coated as well, so you could check those leads too. YOu can
get an amazing gloss finish, which is really really tough!
