Re: RF Grounding

Hi Stan. What works for me is to ground the cases of the trannys only to
the dedicated Tesla ground, along with the bottom terminal of the
secondary coil, and also a strike rail on the primary coil, and a safety
gap for the hi-volt neon supply. Now the power supply ground from the
A.C. mains has no contact with the tranny cases or cores, instead I use a
horn gap with one horn being the hot black 120volt wire and the other
horn electrode connected to the house mains ground(green wire). This
prevents a energetic spike from getting into your house wiring. I also
now use a set of MOV's across all parts of the A.C. input to further help
in clamping any spikes that try to sneak past the dual paralleled Corcom
30 amp line filters(filters wired in reverse) and the Corcoms also share
the green line ground with the horn gap.
Another further improvement I now use is several big old high current
tube type transformers wired so that they are 120volt in/low volt out=low
volt in to 120volt out, this acts as a isolation transformer for the A.C.
input line, the cores of these tube trannys are connected to the green
house ground. Hope this helps. Al.
