I would say that it's not a question of "training", but a question of
knowledge and experience, accumulated in the century after the works
of Tesla, if not for much longer time.
Engineers -know- that it's very difficult to extract energy
from anything, it's difficult to transport energy over long distances,
and it's difficult to use any kind of energy efficiently.
Now, when the Earth's resources are being clearly depleted by
Man's activities, no method for energy processing that is not efficient
can be seriously considered.
Observe also the crescent suspicion about effects of strong
electromagnetic fields in human health and in the environment. If
there is people upset with -signal- transmitters, imagine what they
would say about -power- transmitters...
(Disclaimer: I don't believe in any harmful effects of electromagnetic
fields that aren't strong enough to cook you).
