Coilers,
If I can't get a TSG working well with a filtered DC supply (quench
problems), then I plan to make an improved variable speed RSG. My current
one uses an inexpensive angle grinder from Harbor Freight. The grinder is
really crummy - it has very loud and awful sounding gear mesh noise, and the
bearings have slop in them which prevent being able to use close electrode
spacing.
But I like the angle grinder approach as it is easy to mount, is the right
RPM range, and has a good built-in means of securing the disk to it. Can
someone recommend from experience a more precision angle grinder which is
not overly noisy and has good gears and bearings with no play?
Thanks,
