Note that this only works with the CMOS version of the 555 but that is the
one you want to use anyway.

I dont have the CMOS type but the type i have works right.I just dont know
how to determine the values to use to get the frequency range i need.I know
how to with the original 2 resistors and 1 timing cap.There are calcs for
that but i cant find any 50% duty cylcle type.
