Another dumb idea from the masochistic scientist

Ok......here's the plan.

You need a really cool pic for a PR application and at some point come up 
with the idea..

"Hey, let's take one of the old 486's from the warehouse, hook it all up, 
load Window$, and place it on one of the post insulators, completely 
operational, with a monitor on top. Then hit it with arcs from the coil!"

This is clearly a situation of Alligator mouth overloading a Hummingbird 
butt. But it IS a cool idea.


The Problem.

I'm not worried about frying a computer, these are trash anyway, but I AM 
worried about what will happen when a streamer connects to the inside of a 
monitor (it'll never get into the computer, faraday cage efect of case). I'm 
worried about frying the electrical system of the building, damaging the 
coil, or whatever....

Theories on what will happen so I can take adequete safety precautions?



Btw, I'm also engaged in a wager ($1.00) that I can set up the coil to arc 
to just a computer case, while running, and it will survive if done right.

These are the thoughts that kept me out of the really good schools.
