Just a tin can would work.  Many new coilers don't use a "substantial" top
load on their coils and need a "fast" terminal...  Thus the 'fabulous foil
covered ball' terminal ;-))

A tin can placed on a plastic sheet on the top of a coil with a wire
attachment will provide electrical connection to the ball.  The open can
top can hold the ball in place easily and provide the all important
terminal capacitance needed.  You can often place the ball directly on top
of the secondary tube too...
