Hi Dan,
I'm not too good with chinese drums but I am going to try the flat spiral 
mounted
perpendicular to the secondary. With a 3.25 inch diam secondary, I'll start 
with a spiral-
first turn diameter of 6 inches. Experience with the helix says much closer 
is too tight. What do you think of a tunable 14-turn coil made with 3/16 Cu 
tubing and spaced to 0.75 inches?
