Greetings all,
Well, to state the obvious, the tesla list is up and running. To do so, I
basically got a new machine, a PIII 550 with 128M ram. It's tons faster
and therefore processes mail better without things getting jammed up.
Many people have asked if they could help, either financially or some
other way. The answer to the question is yes, and it would be greatly
appreciated.
Here is what I plan on spending any financial contributions on, in more or
less priority:
1) Recoup some of the costs of the new machine.
2) DDS-2 (DAT) autoloading tape drive to replace one that died.
3) Additional SCSI disk drive(s), likely Seagate Barracuda or Cheetah.
4) UPS to keep machine from crashing when power goes out
5) Another machine for redundancy
6) ISP charges
7) Other misc. list costs, such as
a) Something for our fearless moderator
b) Something for our web hosts
8) CDR so I can make CDs of list archives.
All contributions, hardware or money will be greatly appreciated. If you
can contribute hardware, please let me know so I can make sure the efforts
are organized.
Please send donations to
