Re: G10

Dr. B,
         my comments interspersed:
snip
>>>I have been trying to find out what the English equivalent name for
G-10/FR4
I think "Tuffnol" is a popular trade name for the high pressure
laminates in Europe.

Not so. G-10/FR-4 is a high pressure laminate in the same family as
"phenolic" but does not contain phenolic.G-10 is a Epoxy based resin with
glass cloth reinforcement. There are 4 "main" resin bases (phenolic, silicone,
epoxy, and melamine) with almost limitless number of reinforcements(from
paper to kevlar) A subclass of the high pressure laminates is polyester/glass
grade GPO series... usually maroon colored found in electrical circuits
boxes.. not actually a high pressure laminate (cured under low pressure) but
similar enough to be grouped together.

>>What are it's mechanical properties?
in general G-10 has high strenght, high temp resistance, excellent electrical
properties....... for more detailed parameters try www.acculam-dot-com
hope this helps out
