Tyler,

I've used non-detergent motor oil and also cheap,
farm-tractor hydraulic fluid as substitues for
transformer oil with good results.  You can find
hydraulic fluid in 5 gal buckets at auto parts stores,
SAMs Club, Wal Mart, etc.
