Tungsten Tire Studs for Spark Gaps?
All,
I am hoping some on the list can enlighten me on the practicality of using
tungsten tire studs as elements in a RSG for lower power (less than 2 KW).
They are inexpensive to buy. (For those living in warm climates, these are
traction enhancing metal studs with a tungsten core embedded in it. Dozens
of these are inserted in mating holes in snow tires for better control on
icy roads. They are not legal in some states as they allegedly tear up the
roads.)
I did a web search to try to find out just how the tungsten tips are
mounted in the studs, etc., but got nowhere. If they are just embedded in
lead or some other low temp stuff, this would be dangerous.
Any thoughts?
