Re: transformer design
Hi Bob,
I likewise just acquired some neat transformer stuff. I am in the process
of scrapping a VHF television transmitter. It has two seperate power
supplies and there are rather large 3 phase chokes and 3 phase HV
transformers in each. The transformers are rated at 8000 v. I don't know the
current yet. I'll have to check the schematics. I got a lot of really large
capacitors also. Some are so large that you only want to carry them one at a
time. They won't be much use for tesla work, but will be useful for other HV
stuff. Fortunately, the capacitors are marked "non PCB". Even cot a couple
of three phase capacitors. Not much use, but they sure look mean. Am still
taking this monster apart, and finding more neat stuff each day.
Let me know how your windings go. I would like to rewind one of my 3
phase transformers also.
Good luck
George Stein
