I'm in Columbia Mo. Are there any coilers around here?

When I was growing up in Columbia there were several of us high school
kids building TC's, with some success. Some, I regret to say, used
NST's "borrowed" from unattended signs. I built a tube coil which gave
me 2" arcs and was considered a great success.

Of course, this was circa 1939-1941, and things may have changed there
since. At that time the EE guys at the university had a pretty big TC
which they used to roll out on St. Patrick's day.
