CRT's have an inner and outer conductive coating (aquadag) with thick
glass
in-between, forming a good glass capacitor.  Since the electron gun is
not
powered, and no electrons are being accelerated in a vacuum, no X-rays
are
possible.  A capacitor, nothing more or less.  The only hazard is a
possible
implosion should the glass fail due to a hv puncture.

	One problem, though.  The aquadag is colloidal graphite, and has a
pretty high resistance.  Surprised that such a capacitor would work in a
TC application.  If you're worried about an implosion, just break the
evacuation "tit" at the base of the tube, letting air in.  No chance of
implosion then, and shouldn't affect the insulation any.
