Try using them as discharge terminals in a plasma globe. I have heard that
carbon in argon makes a really beautiful purple plasma. As the carbon
vaporizes from the discharge (if vaporizes is not the *proper* term, all
you sticklers can leave me alone if you please, since I'm certain the idea
is getting across ;) the discharge characterisitics will change as pressure
increases inside the globe. If you try to do this, please let me know the
result. I have several globes, but no carbon :)
