Thanks once again
To Ed:
The spark gaps I am using are 2 L brackets with bolts in each one. The bolts
are sparpened and they are easily adjusted.
My secondary coil is a 2 ft pvc pipe with one layer 22 AWG wire wrapped all
the way around The diamiter is 1.5 inches. The primary coil is 14 AWG wire
wrapped around the secondary anywhere from 3 turns to 10 ( i can easily change
it). None of this is grounded.
My capacitor is a wine bottle capacitor. It has salt water up to the brim. The
rest of the bottle is full of motor oil. A threaded rod is inside of the
bottle. It has one layer of aluminum foil with electrical tape around it.

Are your spark gaps firing? If not, your capacitor may be shorted. What kind
of gaps are you using? 5 or 6 1.5" diameter copper pipe sections spaced .015"
to .025" apart with air blowing through them would work well. Is your wine
bottle covered in foil or is it in a salt water solution with oil on the top?
Please provide more details on the construction. Exact specs of both primary
and secondary. How do you have the primary components connected? Is the
bottom of the secondary grounded?
