Tristan,
I have my coil in a room on the second floor(not my ideal choice, bur
that's life). I use the ground of the third prong and generate 22" streamers
with no ill effects to the ground fault interrupter or any of the electronics
in my place. I would much prefer to have a true RF ground as it would
probably increase the output of my coil, but it does seem to work ok. I would
suggest unplugging computers etc. while running your coil just for safety if
you do this.
