Subject: transistor V spark gap
I'm using a 8Kv 30ma Neon to power my tesla coil. I can get up to 11"
sparks off my terminal.
What input power would I need for a low voltage high current transistor
driver?
My wattage is 240 watts for my Neons, So If I did a 160 volts switch at
about say 3 amps, which is about 240 watts, could I still get the same 11"
off my terminal ?
Or would I need somthing with more currnet like 160V at say 30 amps ?
Anyone know how to work it out at all ?
Many thanks !
All the beST,
Chris.
