actualy they did but not as an article devoted to Tesla coils. If you 
remember Stong's article on making an x-ray machine out of an old 01 
tube well he used a Tesla coil to drive the x-ray tube. I aguely 
remember the coil being constructed out of a bakalite tube around 4 
inches in diameter and about 8 inches long wound with #28 wire for 
the secondary and the primary being about 5 turns of copper tubing.
