Jim,
It was Radio Electronics magazine. It was when the format of the mag.
was smaller, like 7" by 9". I used to have a copy of that issue but
have not been able to find it. For some reason I made a photocopy of
the article, and still have that. I have tried to make scans of it but
they are not good quality, but you are welcome to them if you are
interested. Get with me off the list.
I built this coil as a teenager when the article was fresh. I got
major corona off the top terminal just as the article let me to expect.
I had no idea of the potential of the machine. I do remember that I had
only a 7.5 Kvolt trany(long since gone). I do remember the capacitor
was beautiful when fired up. Lots of corona. I eventually shattered one
of the glass plates.
