	Double humping occurs when the coupling factor k Q is
greater than one, most pronounced when it is much greater than
one.  Of course, to get even critical coupling when the secondary
is heavily loaded with a discharge requires 
much greater than critical coupling before the discharge starts.
If the quenched gap works properly it will "go out" as the
primary current goes to near zero, resulting in maximum energy
transfer as you note.
