Neither do I now! It was either a message in this group or in the USA-TESLA
listserve. It doesn't sound like anyone else here has had any problems with
15kv units, so it may have been an isolated failure.
By the way, I was looking through a neon supply catalog that mentioned a
transformer called a "Bombarder" which apparently is used in making neon signs.
The catalog listed values around 10-12kVA(!) and said that they could be
supplied with various current limiting options. It sounded perfect for a Tesla
coil except for the high price ($1.6k...ouch). Has anyone here ever come
across one of these surplus and tried it with a coil?
