Tom, 
I recently completed a 6" acrylic secondary and did not apply
any type of sealer untill the winding was completed.  I do
believe that from now on, I will be pre-coating the tube with
the product called Behr build 50 before I start winding.  This
stuff has a LONG working time before it sets, and sets up like
glass.  My 6" is wound with 27" of close space 22ga and I am
very happy with the results.  Right at 5' now with only vacuum
gaps.  I hope to increase this reach once my rotary gap is done.
