Hi group,
I've run accross a "neon" sign transformer and wanted a price check.
It's a GE? (i forgot to write the name down) 12KV, 120 ma., Power
factor corrected transformer built in June 1953. It looks to be in good
shape, thou I haven't tested it, and doesn't smell burnt. The store wants
$80 for it. If it checks out, is this a good price?
btw: I find it curious that while 12KV x 120ma = 1440VA, the nameplate only
rates it at 750VA. Is that because of the shunt limiting?
